God’s plan of Salvation is a simple one. Jesus said in John 14:6 ” Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” In this passage, Jesus is talking to Thomas (doubting Thomas he is sometimes called).

First, you must realize that you are a sinner. Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” And Romans 3:23 says “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
Secondly, realize that YOU need forgiveness for those sins. Adam, through his disobedience to God, brought the curse of sin upon all mankind. Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
Sin brings instantaneous Spiritual death, and ultimately, physical death as well. BUT, Jesus has made a way out for any who would accept it. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”
Lastly, all that needs to be done is to accept the gift! There is no “Sinner’s Prayer” in the Bible. Merely reciting words is not enough. God wants you to talk to Him. He wishes to hear your words.
Romans 10:9-13 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 ¶ For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Now. How can you know that this worked? 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” In the same way that we accept Christ by faith. We can have faith that He will keep that commitment that He has made to save us from our sins.
The Apostle Paul put it this way: 2 Timothy 1:12 ” For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”
